SARAH TINGAY Senior Stewardess

Crew

Hailing from Cornwall, in the southwest of the UK, Sarah spent college holidays working in four and five star hotels, bars and restaurants. During this time she gained invaluable experience in all aspects of the hospitality industry, from housekeeping to silver service. Sarah experienced her first taste of yachting when she spent two summers working on S/Y Martanne, a 55ft sailing yacht, operating in Spain and the Canary Islands. After finishing college, she established a successful career, firstly in finance and then recruitment sales, rapidly rising to the position of regional team leader.

Sarah is keen traveller, always spending holidays exploring far-flung destinations in, amongst others, South America, Asia and Africa, where she climbed Mt Kilimanjaro. It was her passion for travel and a real enjoyment of working in hospitality that led her to leave the routine of ‘nine to five’ to combine her two loves and take on a full time career in the yachting industry.

Early in 2009 Sarah secured a position as second stewardess onboard the 37m M/Y Kadimos. Travelling throughout the Western Mediterranean, Sarah spent three years supporting the full stewarding of the yacht for owner voyages and charters, including full interior preparation, provisioning and service as well as providing deck support when required.

In winter 2009, rather than taking a relaxing holiday, Sarah decided to experience an Atlantic crossing, so she joined the crew of S/Y Hamilton. She was on board for two months, delivering from Mallorca to the Caribbean where she remained to help prepare the boat for charter, before returning to M/Y Kadimos for the new season in the Mediterranean.

Now SALU has the pleasure and privilege of having Sarah as chief stewardess as she brings with her the dedication, experience and professionalism that will help ensure a truly unforgettable experience for our guests.
