Toby Lewis

Toby was born and raised on a dairy farm in the UK coastal town of Laugharne, West Wales. However, he spent the majority of his childhood getting into mischief on the stunning yet challenging waters around the beautiful Pembrokeshire coastline.

After Toby completed schooling in England’s rural Oxfordshire, his mother placed him on a cooking course to prepare him for two seasons in the mountains of France’s Les Trois Vallées, where he ran small private chalets in the ski resort of Meribel. It was during this time that Toby’s passion for French food and his skill in preparing the perfect Tartiflette, was established.

As enjoyable as the Alps can be, Toby soon realised that he would prefer a life at sea and consequently trained in Falmouth on England’s south coast as a commercial skipper, after which he commenced working in St. Davids, North Pembrokeshire. Toby has a love of wildlife and he found incomparable pleasure seeing Atlantic grey seals, porpoise, dolphins, puffins and shearwaters on a regular basis around the Pembrokeshire islands. With a passion for the sea now fully ingrained, Toby entered the superyacht business in 2016, when he joined SALU’s crew.

When Toby is not working on the water he can be found enjoying sailing, rowing, water skiing, wakeboarding, scuba diving, rugby, tennis and travelling on his beloved motorbike – Buzz!
